The 20-minute weekly review that actually makes you better
Rereading every trade one by one is useless. A good review answers three questions, in this order, and ends with a single rule.
Friday evening, you open your journal, scroll through your trades, nod along. Twenty minutes later you close it without having decided anything. That's not a review, it's a reread. The difference: a review ends with a change.
Question 1: did I follow my plan?
Start with discipline, not P&L. How many trades followed your strategy? Which ones didn't, and why? A winning week with five off-plan trades is a bad week that got lucky.
Question 2: where did the money go?
Isolate what cost the most. It's almost never "the market". It's a specific hour, a specific pair or a specific behaviour: trades taken right after a loss, Friday afternoon entries, gold when you usually trade the euro. A single item often explains most of the losses.
Question 3: what worked?
It gets forgotten, yet that's where your edge lives. Which trades did you take exactly according to plan? What was their result? That's what you need to do more often.
The output: one rule, not ten
Finish with a single rule for next week. Not "be more disciplined", but "no trades after 4 pm" or "30-minute break after two losses". A measurable rule you can check at the next review.
Don't do the math yourself
Finding your worst hour or the cost of your revenge trading by hand takes an hour. TradeDiscipline prepares your review: the week's discipline score, off-plan trades, costly hours and pairs, comparison with the previous week. All that's left is to decide.
